Meet Your Main Street

The Downtown Business District installed wayfinding and storytelling signs on streetlight poles on Main Street, Middletown, CT. Each sign includes a map of Main Street, and a profile of a person in our downtown business community. The signs were installed in late 2018 and early 2019.

The sign project was developed by DBD commissioner Jen Alexander, with help from Erin Dopfel and Rani Arbo. Jen and Erin both work at Kidcity Children’s Museum, and Rani Arbo is in the Center for the Arts at Wesleyan University. Writing and primary photography done by Bailey Wright.
