Hello!
I’m Bailey, a senior digital content producer, video editor and college professor based in Connecticut.
When I consider my decade-long career in journalism, I look back with pride at my experiences as a manager, a persistent breaking news reporter, a mentor to my college students, and an outlet for local voices to be heard. While friends and colleagues have left the industry for a different lifestyle or more traditional hours, I still can’t imagine doing anything else. Getting to tell stories- and getting to do it in creative ways- still lights a fire in me.
I started my education in journalism through an initially casual interest in photojournalism which motivated me to join my university’s daily newspaper. My love and appreciation for journalism has only deepened since and I feel privileged to tell the stories of everyday people in innovative ways.
In 2026, I had the immense pleasure of returning to my alma mater to teach a college journalism course for the first time. Helping guide and shape the future generation of journalists has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career.
Some top career moments:
Leading digital coverage of the Alex Murdaugh murder trials in South Carolina, as the digital executive producer of WCIV
Earning my Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
Being approached to teach in the same university classrooms I learned in
Photographing the NCAA Division I women's basketball championship the year Breanna Stewart won her fourth championship (Go Huskies!)
Having a view of Central Park in New York City from the intern corner of Hearst Tower
When I’m not working, I love hiking, thrifting, and taking a walk with my dog and a fantastic cup of coffee.
