I’m Bailey, a journalist with the Record-Journal in central Connecticut. During my time at the R-J I have worked positions including Breaking News/GA, town reporting for Durham, Middlefield, and North Haven and currently as a web producer creating videos primarily.
I graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2017 with degrees in journalism and psychology. For four years I had the pleasure of working for UConn's independent, student-run school newspaper The Daily Campus. Over that time I served as managing editor, assoc. photo editor, assoc. managing editor, photo producer, writer and designer.
I started my education in journalism through an initially casual interest in photojournalism that motivated me to join the school paper as a photographer. I could have never imagined how the next four years would go, but I'm grateful for all of it. Because of The Daily Campus, I've had the opportunity to try out and experiment with a large variety of different roles within journalism.
My love and appreciation for journalism has only deepened since and I feel privileged to tell the stories of everyday people.
